Entertainment pundit and Artiste Manager, Mr Logic, strongly criticized Professor Elsie Effah Kaufmann, the Mistress for the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), over a recent statement she made during an interview on Starr FM.
In the interview with Bola Ray, Professor Elsie Effah Kaufmann acknowledged the exceptional performance of Presbyterian Boys Senior High School – Legon (PRESEC) in the NSMQ, suggesting that other schools’ focus on “singing and dancing” might contribute to their inability to win the contest, while PRESEC prioritizes serious learning and quiz preparation.
Her remarks garnered significant backlash, with Mr Logic expressing disappointment and rebuking her for undermining the Creative Arts industry with her comments. Speaking on UTV’s United Showbiz show, he emphasized that the NSMQ Mistress lacked wisdom and understanding, urging her to issue a public apology for her statement.
Mr Logic emphasized the importance of the creative space, highlighting that singing and dancing are significant components of it. He cautioned against underestimating the individuals within the creative arts industry, noting that many of them are highly educated and successful. He further emphasized that the creative industry is not exclusive to the uneducated, as some might stereotype it.
Expressing personal offense at Professor Elsie’s comments, Mr Logic urged her to apologize publicly for her remarks that seemingly devalued the creative space.
