I never had plans to pursue music – Gyakie reveals

Ghanaian Afrobeat singer Gyakie, reveals that music wasn’t a career she wanted to pursue instead had an interest in entrepreneurship.

The “Forever” hitmaker revealed this on TV3’s morning show ‘The Day Show’.

Gyakie who pursued a business course at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) got her plans on entrepreneurship shifted to music when a friend introduced her music producer named Sosa.

Narrating her story the singer said;

“So before I got into the university because that’s where everything started for me. Before I went to KNUST, I just wanted to be an entrepreneur, I wanted to get money so I studied International Business at KNUST until I met my producer, Sosa on campus through a friend.”

After Gyakie’s encounter with Sosa, she produced hit songs like “Forever”, “Something”, “Never Like This”, “Rent Free” and others and also unleashed her talent when it comes to songwriting.

Her hit songs have grown her fanbase and also gotten the chance to perform on big stages across the globe.
