The family of Ga Manye, Naa Dedei Omaedru III, has issued a threat to block the Ga Traditional Council from proceeding with the funeral service of their deceased relative. The family alleges exclusion from the funeral preparations despite numerous attempts to engage with the Traditional Council. In response, the family obtained an interim injunction against the scheduled funeral on Saturday, October 28.

The Traditional Council claims they have not been served with the injunction, while a member of the Ga Manye family, Abdul Salam, emphasizes that the injunction covers both the remains and the funeral. The dispute arose as the family accuses the council of sidelining them and proceeding without collaboration in the funeral arrangements. Naa Dedei Omaedru III passed away in December 2022, with the final funeral rites initially scheduled from October 15 to 31, 2023.
