Asamoah Gyan: Former Black Stars Captain Reveals He Has No Regrets Marrying His Ex-Wife

Former Black Stars captain and businessman Asamoah Gyan has indicated he has no regrets about marrying his now-estranged wife, Gifty Gyan.

On Tuesday, October 31, reports indicated that the Matrimonial Division of the Accra High Court granted Gyan’s 2018 petition to annul his 2013 union with his wife.

Asamoah Gyan addresses divorce-related issues

In an interview with Asempa FM, the former Ghanaian football star explained that the decision to propose and marry his ex-significant other was his. He addressed issues emanating from the court annulment of his marriage.

Gyan stated that he’s a family man and wants to focus on raising and providing for his children instead of engaging in unnecessary conflicts.

”I don’t regret it because I chose to marry her. During our marriage, many things emerged, but I didn’t want to talk about them. I discovered certain things that prompted me to proceed to court to annul the marriage. After five years of investigations, the court established that I was right and ended the marriage,” he claimed.

Asamoah Gyan labels his ex-wife a loser after marriage annulment

in the same audio, Asamoah Gyan labelled his now-estranged wife, Gifty Gyan, a loser following the successful annulment of their marriage.

The former Sunderland star clarified that the properties given to the mother of his three children were already in her name.

.”…The reason why we went to court was that I wanted to annul the marriage. After five years of investigations, it emerged that I was right … so the sole loser, the person who lost but is out to protect their job by portraying that [she] received properties … the things given to her are normal,” he claimed.

Gyan and Gifty’s marital issues in court

Also, it was reported that Asamoah Gyan went to court in 2018 to seek an annulment of his 2013 marriage with his United Kingdom-based wife, Gifty.

As part of his demands, Ghana’s all-time leading goalscorer had questioned the paternity of their three children and demanded a DNA test. The test results confirmed him as the father of all three children.

Gyan was seeking the annulment based on Gifty being ‘married’ already, a sham marriage in 2002, at the time she was marrying him.
