In a significant move towards fostering the growth of young minds, the Absa Bank Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) team recently made a substantial commitment to Choggu Yapalsi M/A Junior High School (JHS) in Tamale. The primary objective of the team was to invigorate the school’s computer lab, providing essential resources to kindle enthusiasm and curiosity among the students, propelling them on a journey into science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
The contribution from Absa Bank’s CIB team included a generous donation of 30 desktop computers, offering invaluable educational resources to the students. Additionally, they undertook the renovation of the school’s computer lab, providing new desks, chairs, and fans to create a comfortable and conducive learning environment.
This initiative goes beyond corporate social responsibility (CSR) for Absa; it represents an investment in the future of these promising minds. Recognizing the paramount importance of digital literacy and technological proficiency in today’s world, Absa aims to empower the youth to be future-ready.
The transformation of the computer lab was met with palpable excitement from the students, whose eyes sparkled with anticipation as they beheld the newly equipped facility. It marked a moment of hope and empowerment for these young learners.
Ellen Ohene-Afoakwa, Managing Principal for Absa Bank Ghana Corporate & Investment Banking, led the delegation and affirmed that supporting Choggu Yapalsi M/A Junior High School reflects Absa’s unwavering belief in the transformative power of education.
